Whakaraupō Recreation Incorporated is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and motivated board members.

WRI represents 20 different member organisations and over 2500 members as part of those organisations at Naval Point. Our objectives are to encourage all forms of Community Recreation, both land and sea based, at Tapoa, Naval Point. We are doing this through supporting the development of facilities, programs as well as management and operational systems for our member organisations.

The successful applicant for board role can affiliated with any member organisation of WRI or be independent, and also have a genuine interest, and history, in developing and promoting sport and recreation for communities. They will be interested in working with a motivated and passionate group of volunteers who are currently supporting the establishment of the Hub.

We’re entering an exciting phase for the hub, full of opportunities to use your experience to help bring this ambitious project to life for recreation and sport across Christchurch and wider Canterbury.

Useful skills would be, fundraising, accounting/treasurer experience, experience with grant applications, planning and consenting, RMA/ Legal, and Sport Management.
